Sofiane Chaib, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of the National Community Abroad, held a coordination and orientation meeting via videoconference on Monday with the heads of consular posts in France. The session was part of an ongoing series of periodic meetings with consular heads abroad, according to a Ministry of Foreign Affairs communiqué.
The meeting "falls under the follow-up on the implementation of the recommendations from the Conference of Consular Heads held last February, and in preparation for the upcoming summer season."
To this end, "the meeting allowed for an inquiry into the progress of ongoing preparations to ensure that members of the national community established abroad can return to the country under the best possible conditions," the communiqué added.
He discussed "the various efforts made by our consular network to implement the ministry's action plan aimed at modernizing the consular system, facilitating access to public services to better meet the aspirations of our community abroad, and ensuring the quality and efficiency of administrative transactions."
The Secretary of State also issued "a series of instructions and orientations aimed at further improving the quality of the consular services provided," while emphasizing the need to "intensify communication with members of the national community and strengthen their ties with the motherland," the same source concluded.
