The Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of the National Community Abroad, Mr. Sofiane Chaib, conducted a field visit this Thursday to the Port of Alicante, which operates regular maritime lines connecting this city to several Algerian ports. This visit marked his second stop in the city of Alicante, as part of the ongoing program of his working visit to the Kingdom of Spain, according to a ministry statement.
The statement explained that this visit falls "within the framework of ongoing preparations for the summer season, which is expected to witness a significant influx of national community members residing in Spain, as well as those coming from other countries. A field assessment was conducted to review the readiness of this maritime terminal and the organizational procedures adopted to improve reception and travel conditions to and from the homeland."
This visit also provided an opportunity to "review the level of coordination among various stakeholders, contributing to the enhancement of the quality of services provided to passengers and strengthening the efficiency of operations related to maritime transport movements."
At the conclusion of the visit, "the Secretary of State signed the Port’s Golden Book," praising "the role it plays in supporting economic exchanges and strengthening the bridges of human connection between the Algerian and Spanish shores of the Mediterranean," according to the ministry statement.
