Oil prices rose at the close of trading on Friday.
Brent crude futures reached $101.29 a barrel, up 1.23%, after surging as much as 3% earlier in the session.
Meanwhile, U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures settled at $95.42 a barrel, climbing 61 cents, or 0.64%.
Despite these daily gains, both benchmarks recorded a weekly decline of more than 6% at settlement.
