Algerian cyclists Abdallah Allal and Mohamed Nadjib Assel won the silver medal in the Keirin event, which took place on Thursday during the second day of the African Track Cycling Championships, currently underway at the Olympic Velodrome in the Nigerian capital, Abuja.

This new achievement boosts Algeria's tally in this continental competition, following the positive results obtained by the national team on Wednesday.

Algerian cyclist Hamza Yacine had previously won the gold medal in the Scratch race for seniors, ahead of his compatriot Abdallah Allal, who claimed the silver medal.

In the women's category, Sihem Bousebaâ secured another silver medal for Algeria after finishing second in the Scratch race for senior women.

Thanks to these new results, the national team continues to collect medals at these African Championships, which will run until May 17 in Abuja.

The national team is coached by Abdelbasset Hannachi. The Algerian squad consists of 13 able-bodied cyclists, in addition to two para-cyclists, aiming for the best possible medal tally during this continental championship.
