The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, held bilateral talks on Tuesday in Seoul with former United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon, who serves as President of the Assembly and Chair of the Council of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). The meeting took place on the sidelines of his participation in the second day of the Africa-Korea Partnership Ministerial Meeting, according to a statement from the ministry.
This meeting provided an "opportunity to examine the prospects for strengthening cooperation between Algeria and the GGGI, in light of Algeria's accession to this international organization in August 2025, as well as ways to consolidate the partnership between the two parties, particularly in areas related to environmental protection, sustainable development, and energy transition," the same source specified.
"The two parties also discussed ongoing preparations for Mr. Ban Ki-moon's upcoming visit to Algeria, aimed at giving new impetus to cooperation between Algeria and the GGGI and exploring new partnership opportunities in areas of mutual interest," the statement concluded.
