Yesterday, Saturday, June 6, 2026, the Minister of Communication, Dr. Zouhir Bouamama, emphasized the significant role of national media outlets in ensuring the success of the elections as the bridge connecting candidates and voters, calling on them to commit to neutrality, objectivity, and supporting transparency.

Following his attendance at the draw for allocating airtime to candidates across public audiovisual media under the "Direct Expression" segment—in anticipation of the election campaign for the legislative elections scheduled for next July 2—which took place at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Center (CIC), the Minister urged media professionals to demonstrate a spirit of responsibility, professionalism, accuracy, and timeliness in reporting and delivering information during the campaign period. He also advised them to avoid preconceived judgments, choose appropriate terminology and descriptions, and work on structuring political debate and elevating the level of dialogue to help foster an enlightened voter, in addition to fact-checking information and remaining cautious of those who deploy artificial intelligence to influence the electoral process.

The draw was conducted under the supervision of the Acting President of the National Independent Authority for Elections, Mr. Karim Khalfan, in the presence of the President of the National Independent Authority for Audiovisual Regulation, Mr. Amar Benjedda, alongside the Director General of the Public Broadcasting Corporation, Mr. Adel Salakdji, and representatives from the Public Television Corporation, the Constitutional Court, and the judicial bailiff.
