The Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Algeria, Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh, was received on Tuesday in Algiers by both the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and the Minister of Mujahideen and Rights Holders, Abdelmalek Tacherift, in separate farewell visits at the conclusion of his diplomatic mission.
The audience with President Tebboune took place in the presence of Mr. Brahim Merad, Minister of State, in charge of the General Inspection of State Services and Local Communities, and Mr. Amar Abba, Advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of diplomatic affairs.
During his meeting with the Minister of Mujahideen and Rights Holders, Abdelmalek Tacherift, the minister praised "the depth of the fraternal and historical relations binding the friendly Algerian and Vietnamese peoples, particularly regarding the legacy of their common struggle against colonialism and for the defense of freedom and national sovereignty," according to a ministry statement.
Minister Tacherift expressed his gratitude to the Vietnamese diplomat for his efforts throughout his tenure in Algeria and his active contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation, particularly in fields related to national memory and shared history.
For his part, Ambassador Tran Quoc Khanh commended the support provided by the Ministry of Mujahideen in fostering closer ties and cooperation between Algeria and Vietnam, stating that he "leaves Algeria with the certainty that Algerian-Vietnamese relations will continue to develop and endure." The diplomat also expressed pride in the personal and professional ties he established during his mandate.
At the end of their meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continuing joint efforts to consolidate the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Algeria and Vietnam to best serve the common interests of both nations and peoples.
